on friday we went to the capital buenos aires and to another city called la plata. we had to get up at 2:15 in the morning and went in “micro”, bus to travel, to buenos aires. these busses are sooo cool, you can change the seats into any position you wanna, they have air condition, as much free coffee as ypu want, TV and “stewards”- they acompaign journies, and work as entertainers, travel guides together. on the way to buenos aires we stopped at a restaurant, to have breakfast and went then on to the capital. at about 8 am we arrived to out first destination in buenos aires- la boca. la boca is a part of buenos aires, where almost all houses are painted very colorful and it’s sooo nice
you can enter to some of the houses, but they are very wonky but i really loooooved it
afterwards we went to the casa rosada (similiar to the white house in the USA) to see an exhibition about argentinian presidents. then we went to a restaurant to have lunch and afterwars left to la plata, our 2nd place to visit. there isn’t really sth to tell bout la plata cause it was pretty boring, we went to see a church and a museum and that was it. oh and afterwards we went to the “ciudad de los niños” (city of the children) which is like a city in kids-size, pretty cute.

buenos aires and la plata

i’m finally in my host family´s house in casilda, about 50 km close to rosario. my family is sooooo nice, they´re caring about me very well and i really love being here.
i came to see loooots of stuff of casilda this weekend, on friday we made a first tour through the city went to see loooots of relatives of my hostfamily, went to see friends of my host sister and brother etc. on saturday wen went to see friends again and bought my school uniform (gonna post pics soon) and in the eve we had ASADO (typical argentinian barbecue). the asado was pretty delicious except of one thing, i forgot the name but it’s sausage made out of blood and i think it tastes very nasty. afterwards we went to a friends house, just hanging arround.
on sunday my host dad did a tour on the motorcycle with me all arround casilda, was soooo cool
we saw a lot, for example kinda haciendas with horses and gauchos, but also sad things like for example that even small towns like casilda have slums with houses just made out of steelplanes and foil.
on monday my 1st day in school came, everything was really different from what im used to in germany, for example they fly the argentinian flag every morning with the national anthem being played in the background and afterwards a story from the bible is being read. the worst thing about school is, that i´m currently visiting a class which concentrates on natural sciences such as biology, chemics etc. if i’m pretty lucky i can change to the other class, unless the people in this class a really nice.
speaking and understanding spanish during the classes isn’t as hard as i expected, actually it’s pretty easy
all in all i’m feeling great being here in casilda with my host family and i’m really looking forward to the next 11 months
besitos, lisa
